“The Chinese government’s failure to be transparent with global leaders about the Coronavirus outbreak is not only costing thousands of lives but also is causing serious economic harm for millions of Americans and businesses. We should not have to pay for China’s mistakes financially. This virus has already cost us enough.”

“Through procedural action in today’s House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs hearing, I was able to get an important proposal passed that will ensure veterans who are participating in state-approved medical marijuana programs are not denied their VA benefits. I think what happened today was an excellent example of bipartisanship and working together to serve America’s veterans. Though my bill did not receive a vote in this committee, Republicans and Democrats worked together to pass this amendment to ensure this important proposal is enacted. At the end of the day, it does not matter whose name is on the bill, as long as we are creating good policy that gets our veterans the care they deserve.”

“I have personally experienced the unnecessary delay of a suppressor application and as a member of Congress, I have met with many Floridians who have also experienced similar delays. A policy of delay, delay, delay is unacceptable and frankly violates the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners.”

“Farmers across Florida rely on the H-2A visa program each year for temporary agricultural labor. Given that the purpose of the H-2A program is to address agricultural labor needs, it seems only logical that we would rely on the Department of Agriculture to review and grant these visas.”

“A witch hunt that started as a politically motivated investigation into the president’s campaign, that then turned into an accusation of obstruction of justice, and eventually culminated in a formal impeachment inquiry, has thankfully ended today with justice for President Donald Trump—an acquittal. I applaud the Senate for their decisive action to acquit the president. Since the president was elected, Democrats have stopped at nothing to remove him from office because they know they can’t beat him at the ballot box. Thankfully, the voters will have the final say on all of this in November. I am hopeful that with this acquittal, we can move forward and get to the business of the American people by addressing real issues facing our nation.”

“The State of our Union is prosperous. Wages are rising, unemployment is dropping, and the economy is booming. In Florida alone, we’ve seen the lowest unemployment rate in our state’s history at 3 percent and new business applications are up 16 percent since President Trump was elected in 2016. The policies proposed by this administration are working for Floridians and Americans and I applaud the president for his steadfast commitment to making America great!”

“As we saw in the recent tragedy in Pensacola, gun free zones are a threat to our safety—even in the most secure environments. Active duty service members, who have extensive firearm training, should be afforded the opportunity to carry a concealed firearm to defend themselves and others. If we trust them on the battlefield with military equipment and firearms, then we should trust them at home on their installations to defend themselves and civilians working with them.”
