Steube Joins Republican Colleagues in Letter to Netanyahu Reaffirming Support of U.S.-Israel Alliance
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) today joined Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.), Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and 112 Republican colleagues in sending a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirming support for the U.S.-Israel alliance.
“While Democrats in Congress threaten to betray our alliance with Israel, Republicans are committed to standing up for our shared democratic principles,” Steube said. “We stand with Israel now and always and will continue to recognize and support their sovereignty in making decisions.”
Steube was joined by fellow members of the Florida delegation, including U.S. Representatives Neal Dunn (R-Fla.), Ted Yoho (R-Fla.), John Rutherford (R-Fla.), Michael Waltz (R-Fla.), Ross Spano (R-Fla.), and Brian Mast (R-Fla.).
The letter outlines the threats of outside pressures on Israel and Netanyahu and expresses support for the Trump Administration’s Vision for Peace Plan. Among other aspects, this plan lays out unprecedented measures to allow Israel to protect their borders and create universal and respectful access to holy sites of Jerusalem.
