Rep. Greg Steube Announces FEMA Approval of Debris Removal in Sarasota County Mobile Home Parks
SARASOTA, Fla. – U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved Sarasota County’s request for removal of debris from commercial mobile home or manufactured housing parks as a result of Hurricane Ian.
“After advocacy from the county and my office, I’m pleased that FEMA recognized the serious challenges Sarasota County is facing as they work to remove a great volume of debris from Hurricane Ian on commercial properties. The approval of several policy waivers will have a big impact in helping our mobile home communities recover from the hurricane,” said Rep. Greg Steube. “My office stands ready to advocate to FEMA for requests made by any municipality or county in Florida’s 17th Congressional District.”
Six mobile home parks in Sarasota County are now approved for debris removal:
- Alameda Isles Mobile Home Park
- Lazy River Mobile Home Park
- Polynesian Mobile Home Park
- Harbor Isles Mobile Home Park
- Harbor Cove Mobile Home Park
- La Casa Mobile Home Park
The remaining mobile home parks and other commercial properties requested for debris removal by Sarasota County will be inspected and eligibility determined.
