U.S. Rep. Greg Steube Introduces Amendment To Defund Biden Administration DEI Activities

WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) introduced an amendment to H.R. 4664, The FY24 Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act, to defund the Biden Administration’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) activities at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
The amendment introduced by Rep. Steube states: None of the funds made available by this Act may be used for the Communications Equity and Diversity Council at the Federal Communications Commission.
“The Biden Administration is wasting our taxpayer dollars by infiltrating left-wing, progressive, ideology into almost every area of the federal government. Americans are sick and tired of funding racist, discriminatory activities in the name of ‘DEI.’ My amendment defunds a woke DEI office whose mission is to ‘advance equity in the provision of and access to digital communication services.’ This office seeks to advance progressive priorities by elevating the media presence of small businesses based solely on race or gender. They are working for special, selected groups instead of the American people as a whole,” said Rep. Steube.
