U.S. Rep. Greg Steube Announces 2024-2025 Service Academy Nominees

SARASOTA, Fla. — U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) today announced the nomination of 26 students from Florida’s 17th Congressional District to the U.S. Service Academies. These nominations are for the Class of 2029 at the U.S. Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, NY, the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, MD, the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, CO, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, NY. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) in New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination.

“This group of students represents the very best of our district,” said Rep. Steube. “Each of them embodies a commitment to service and excellence that inspires hope for our country’s future. I am honored to support their aspirations to lead as officers in the United States military.”

  • Christine Wu, Pine View School— Nominated for USMA/USAFA
  • Gabriel Live, Pine View School — Nominated for USMA
  • Stephen Fancher Jr., Pine View School — Nominated USMA
  • Joshua McIntire, Riverview High School (H.S. GRADUATE)—Nominated USAFA
  • Alexander Malaj, Sarasota High School — Nominated for USMA/USAFA/USNA

  • Isabella Tovar, State College of Florida Collegiate 58 —Nominated for USAFA/USNA
  • Sydney Pablo, Venice High School — Nominated for USMA/USAFA/USNA/USMMA
  • Aidan McDonald, Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School — Nominated Posthumously for USMA. Tragically, Aidan passed away on Friday, November 8. Congressman Steube presented his nomination posthumously to the McDonald family during Aidan’s Celebration of Life.
