Steube: ‘Treasure Trove’ of Evidence Biden Involved in Hunter’s Business

FLORIDIAN PRESS House Republicans recently held a closed-door hearing with IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler as part of their impeachment inquiry against President Biden. Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) summarized the latest findings from the testimony in a recent appearance on Fox Business’s Mornings with Maria, saying it has been “showing the American people there is a treasure trove of evidence to show that Joe Biden was involved in his family’s business dealings.”

Rep. Steube called President Biden’s denial of involvement “an absolute, complete lie,” as Shapley and Ziegler revealed in their testimony that then-Vice President Joe Biden communicated with his son Hunter’s business associate Eric Schwerin by email through various pseudonyms, which were first uncovered in August.

“Why would you be doing that if there was something of an official nature that they were doing?” questioned Rep. Steube, adding that this comes days after House Oversight uncovered evidence of Joe Biden receiving direct payments from Hunter through his Owasco PC firm starting in 2018.

Host Maria Bartiromo asked how much money the Bidens have made through their supposed influence peddling. Steube said “$24 million is what we know for a fact right now,” including $6.7 million from Burisma.

As Vice President, Joe Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion in aid to Ukraine unless they fired prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Burisma while Hunter sat on their executive board, “which you have Joe Biden bragging about on tape,” Steube added, noting that some of the emails discovered in Shapley and Ziegler’s latest testimony show them “congratulating one another on accomplishing what they were paid to do.”

When asked if more emails would be given to the House Oversight investigators, Steube said retrieval of those in the National Archives would likely be slow-walked, while Gmail archives would be unlikely to hold it due to the age of the emails.

Panelist Monica Crowley asked if any of President Biden’s policy decisions were requested by China due to evidence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) paying the family. Steube pointed to the cancellation of the Trump-era China Initiative early in his term.

“We absolutely need to step up enforcement of this. We need to step up the fact that people should not be able to get money from foreign countries, especially if they are an elected official or their family members,” Steube concluded.
