Steube Introduces Resolution Celebrating Charlotte County’s Centennial Anniversary

PUNTA GORDA, FLA.— U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) today introduced a resolution to congratulate Charlotte County on its 100th anniversary. Charlotte County was established on April 23, 1921, as a community of around 3,000 people. Since then, Charlotte County has grown to have nearly 200,000 residents.

“During my time in Congress, I have come to know many outstanding constituents, businesses, and organizations in Charlotte County, and I am honored to represent all of them,” Steube said. “I am excited to join Charlotte County residents in celebrating this historic achievement, and I am committed to working at the federal level to support their success for generations to come.”

Last Congress, Steube gave remarks at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Charlotte Harbor Water Association’s Distribution System Improvements Project. This project will replace 16 miles of old water mains, install new fire hydrants, and provide much-needed upgrades to the community’s existing infrastructure.

Steube also toured the Charlotte County Emergency Operations Center for a briefing on the community’s response to COVID-19 and plans for hurricane season. The Charlotte County Emergency Operations Center has been a leader in public safety, and its team has worked around the clock to keep the county safe and informed.
