Congressman Steube Appointed to Judiciary, Oversight & Reform, and Veterans’ Affairs Committees

WASHINGTON, DC. – Today, Congressman Greg Steube (R-Fla.) announced his appointment to three committees in the 116th US Congress. The Congressman will serve on the House Committees on the Judiciary, Oversight & Reform, and Veterans’ Affairs.

“I am thrilled to share the news that the people of Florida’s 17th district will have strong representation on a range of important issues facing our nation,” said Congressman Steube in a statement. “My appointment to these committees will ensure I will fight in support of a wall on our southern border, protect taxpayer dollars from waste, fraud, and abuse, and that our veterans will have one of their own fighting for them in Congress.”

The House Committee on the Judiciary presides over an array of issues including gun rights, border security, immigration, and national security. The House Committee on Oversight & Reform serves as the main investigative committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, and the House Committee on Veterans Affairs oversees all matters concerning military veterans, including the Department of Veterans Affairs.

An attorney and former state legislator, Congressman Steube previously served as Chairman of the Florida Senate’s Judiciary Committee, where he actively supported legislation protecting Second Amendment rights and strong borders. During his time in the Florida Legislature, Congressman Steube was also a vocal critic of corporate welfare, voting for sweeping reforms that cracked down on waste and abuse of taxpayer dollars.

Congressman Steube is a former Army JAG Officer and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran. Elected to Congress in 2018, he is one of only a handful of Republican members named to three committees.
