Rep. Greg Steube’s Statement on FEMA’s Refusal to Send Disaster Assistance to Florida

FORT MYERS, F.L. — Congressman Greg Steube (R-Fla.) today released the following statement after the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) denied Florida’s application for disaster relief assistance to Charlotte and Lee counties:

“The Biden Administration needs to stop playing politics with our Florida Seniors. Charlotte and Lee counties have sustained major damages from January’s tornados. Biden’s FEMA has denied our request for help. I thank Governor DeSantis for directing an appeal to FEMA’s decision. I’ll continue working with the Governor’s office and our state and local partners on the ground to help make sure our Southwest Floridians get the disaster relief they are owed.”
