Rep. Steube Files More Legislation to Codify President Trump’s Executive Orders
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) this week introduced a pair of bills codifying two of President Trump’s executive orders. This marks a total of 10 executive orders from the Trump administration that Representative Steube has introduced legislation to codify since the start of the 119th Congress.
“There is a reason the American people elected Republican majorities to Congress alongside President Trump last November: they want the America First agenda passed and signed into law,” said Rep. Steube. “That is why I have proposed codifying two more of Trump’s executive orders. Whether it be protecting school choice or honoring America’s history, the Trump administration has taken bold steps to restore greatness to our country. It’s time for Republicans on Capitol Hill to preserve President Trump’s legacy by codifying his executive actions into law.”
Background:
- The Expanding Educational Freedom and Opportunity for Families Act to codify E. O. 14191, creating new opportunities for families to choose the best school that fits their children’s needs.
- The Restoring Names of American Greatness Act will codify President Trump’s E.O. 14172, Restoring Names That Honor American Greatness, ensuring national landmarks and treasures are renamed in honor of “visionary and patriotic Americans.”
- This bill would direct federal agencies represented on the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (BGN) to review and potentially replace their current BGN representatives with individuals who support renaming iconic landmarks and art in honor of heroic Americans.
