Steube Cosponsors Legislation to Expand Paycheck Protection Program to Include 501(c)(6) Organizations

WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) cosponsored H.R. 6697, the Local Chamber and Tourism Protection Act. This legislation expands the Paycheck Protection Program to included 501(c)(6) organizations such as local chambers of commerce.

We have a responsibility to ensure that local chambers of commerce and nonprofits are empowered to fill their important role in our small business communities as they have before the COVID-19 pandemic,” Steube said. “This bipartisan legislation will help small business owners address their unique problems with local resources and provide a support system that will continue to serve our communities long after this crisis subsides.

The Paycheck Protection Program received over $321.335 billion in additional funding with the recent passage of the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act .
