Steube Hosts U.S. Service Academy Fair

PUNTA GORDA, FLA.—U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) today hosted a U.S. Service Academy Fair at the Military Heritage Museum for interested individuals to learn more about the service academy nomination process.

“It was an honor to see so many young Americans interested in learning more about the Service Academy Process, and what our office can do to help,” Steube said. During my service, I met some of the bravest patriots our nation has ever seen. We would be lucky to have any of the attendees today represent our community in service to our country.”

A Congressional nomination is required for students wishing to enter the United States Military Academy (West Point, NY), the United States Naval Academy (Annapolis, MD), the United States Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, CO), and the United States Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point, NY). Successful applicants will have a broad academic background, the ability to pass a physical aptitude test, and strong leadership potential.

Representatives from each service academy were in attendance and met with each interested individual in breakout sessions to answer questions about the nomination process. One of Steube’s former nominees, Sarasota local Austin McEvoy, who attends the United States Air Force Academy, was also in attendance.
