Steube Statement on Senate Vote to Acquit President Donald J. Trump
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman Greg Steube (R-Fla.) released the following statement on the United States Senate’s vote to acquit President Donald J. Trump:
“A witch hunt that started as a politically motivated investigation into the president’s campaign, that then turned into an accusation of obstruction of justice, and eventually culminated in a formal impeachment inquiry, has thankfully ended today with justice for President Donald Trump—an acquittal. I applaud the Senate for their decisive action to acquit the president. Since the president was elected, Democrats have stopped at nothing to remove him from office because they know they can’t beat him at the ballot box. Thankfully, the voters will have the final say on all of this in November. I am hopeful that with this acquittal, we can move forward and get to the business of the American people by addressing real issues facing our nation.”
