U.S. Rep. Greg Steube Announces Service Academy Nominees
SARASOTA, Fla. — U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) today announced the nomination of 21 students in Florida’s 17th Congressional District to the U.S. Service Academies: the U.S. Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, NY, the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, MD, the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, CO, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, NY. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) in New London, CT, is the fifth service academy and does not require a congressional nomination.
“It is a privilege to nominate the next generation of military leaders. This year’s nominees are intelligent, driven Floridians with a passion to serve our country. Should they receive an appointment, these individuals will represent our district well,” said Rep. Steube.
