The Evidence Is Clear: Joe Biden Knew About And Benefitted From His Family’s Influence Peddling Scheme

WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) today released the following statement after the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means convened a hearing to consider additional evidence from two IRS whistleblowers, Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler:
“The evidence presented in the Ways and Means Committee further solidifies four statements to be true: (1) The DOJ stonewalled, delayed, obfuscated and intentionally hindered the investigators from investigating where the facts led to Joe Biden and treated the Hunter Biden investigation different than any other investigation to shield and protect him from prosecution, (2) the Biden Family made millions of dollars from foreign countries, to date the Republican House has uncovered over $24 million in payments from foreign governments and entities to the Biden Family, (3) the Biden Family benefitted financially from official actions taken by Joe Biden, and (4) Joe Biden was involved in the influence peddling, directly benefitted, and lied to the American public.
Joe Biden claimed there was an “absolute wall” between his official duties and his family influence peddling schemes. That was a lie. There is evidence submitted of Joe Biden using fictitious email addresses to directly email actors in the Biden family business (Exhibit 606). There is also evidence Joe Biden made threats and took official actions to help Hunter while he was on the board of Burisma, Joe Biden is on video bragging about withholding a billion dollars from Ukraine if they didn’t fire the prosecutor investigating Burisma.
Joe Biden claimed his family didn’t receive any money from China. That is a blatant lie. In fact, Joe Biden himself received Chinese money. The payment to Joe Biden was directly from Owasco, Hunter’s business entity that received millions from CEFC China Energy with no services rendered (Exhibit 400, pg. 7-9).
The evidence released demonstrates to America that the DOJ is politically weaponized to protect their Democrat President and against conservative Republicans. They intentionally slow walked Hunter’s case for years because his last name is Biden. Because of this, the statute of limitations was allowed to expire. The DOJ did this as a political favor to Joe Biden. If they’re willing to do that, what else have they done? I agree with Mr. Ziegler, the evidence presented should scare every American because our justice system is not treating everyone the same.
My colleagues on the other side of the aisle claimed these facts were ‘outrageous.’ Their talking points have been that there is no direct evidence that Joe Biden committed any crime or took any of the millions that the Biden family made off Joe Biden’s position and actions. Email traffic and bank records do not lie. It’s sad to see the Democrats of this institution doing the same thing the DOJ has done for years: playing cover for the Bidens.
I thank the two brave whistleblowers who have invested their time in our committee and took great risks in order to expose truth to the American people.
Joe Biden very clearly violated 18 U.S. Code Section 201 (b)(2) which prohibits federal officials from demanding, seeking, receiving, accepting, or agreeing to receive or accept anything of value resulting from an official act.
Based on the evidence presented, and countless past pieces of evidence exposed by House Republicans, it is crystal clear: no President in American history has put his personal enrichment over the country’s national security more than Joe Biden has. Congress must swiftly impeach Joe Biden.”
