No matter your time in service, or your role in the military, all veteran stories are important. Our community is blessed with many veterans from across generations and it is my hope that you will all participate in the Veterans History Project to leave a legacy for your family and our nation.”

Unfortunately, without the necessary assistance, sometimes this sacrifice ends up in tragedy for family members, like Army Specialist Ashley M. Taylor, who took her own life after her husband, Army Private Bailey C. Taylor, committed suicide. We all need to come together to not only raise awareness for the mental health issues affecting our veterans and their families, but also to provide crucial resources to those in need so we can prevent another tragedy like this again.”

Unfortunately, these veterans did not receive the proper recognition they deserved when they arrived home from serving our country decades ago. Designating an official day of recognition for their service is a small step towards giving them the appreciation they deserve.”
