WASHINGTON— U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) today announced a Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) Airport Improvement Program Grant award for Venice Municipal Airport. The airport will receive $744,500 in discretionary funding and $150,000 in entitlement funding to seal the runway pavement surface and pavement joints.
As Rep. Greg Steube, a Republican from Florida, summarized, “less than 6 hours before a vote, the Democrats dropped a massive, last-minute bill to send $40 billion more without any safeguards, assurances of use, or proof of a strategic plan for the U.S. role in Ukraine.”
“Parents have had enough. Schools have no place indoctrinating our children about gender identity, sexual orientation, and transgenderism,” said Steube. “It should have never started in the first place, but since these teachings are becoming increasingly prevalent in schools across America, I’m glad to cosponsor legislation that will withhold federal funds from any school who tries to override parental rights by teaching these topics without permission.”
“Tonight, I voted against an additional $40 billion of new funding in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. I have long supported the Ukrainian people in their fight against Putin’s evil aggression. That’s why I voted in April to approve a loan of U.S. military equipment to Ukraine and voted in March for $14 billion in military and humanitarian assistance for Ukraine.
