WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) and Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) introduced yesterday the Disposing of Inactive Structures and Properties by Offering for Sale And Lease Act or DISPOSAL Act. This bill would require the auction of unused and underutilized federal buildings. 

WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) announced that the Taxpayer Notification and Privacy Act, introduced with Senator John Barrasso, has advanced out of the Ways and Means Committee. Rep. Steube’s bill, which would address inadequacies with federal laws requiring the IRS to provide notice to taxpayers of third-party contacts, was approved unanimously by the Committee in a vote of 41-0.

This bill would expand the Work Opportunity Tax Credit for employers who hire eligible student veterans. WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) reintroduced today the Clean Up Disasters and Emergencies with Better Recovery and Immediate Support Act or Clean Up DEBRIS Act. This bill would allow common interest communities, condominiums, and other private housing cooperatives to receive debris removal assistance from the federal government after a natural disaster or emergency.

WASHINGTON — U.S. Representatives Greg Steube (R-Fla.) and Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.) introduced this week the Taxpayer Protection and Preparer Proficiency Act. This bill would establish new penalties for tax preparers for misuse of identification numbers and failure to comply with Internal Revenue Service requirements.
