March 8, 2021 Press Release
“The PRO Act is a partisan grab bag designed to benefit politically connected groups at the expense of many Americans simply trying to provide for themselves and their families. The bill would jeopardize and sometimes even outlaw most forms of independent contracting, gig work, freelancing, and franchising under the National Labor Relations Act. It would employ an 'ABC' test, a tool regulators have often used to reclassify those with flexible work arrangements, to place them in traditional employment, possibly under union control. The Act would block tens of millions of Americans who work as independent contractors, many of whom operate their own businesses, from earning a living. But some of the bill’s supporters hope that employers will simply place those workers on payroll and then in a union."

"As officers put their lives on the line to protect all of us, our communities, and our families, we have seen nothing but dangerous attempts from the left to defund, dismantle and disband the police. Even as we stand here surrounded by razor wire, National Guard, and an increased police presence to protect the politicians, my colleagues are willing to defund and disadvantage the law enforcement officers who keep the American people safe.”

“Democrats want to force the American people to pay for their campaigns with taxpayer dollars while telling states like Florida they have to end voter ID laws in violation of Article 1, section 4 of the US Constitution. Americans do not want their tax dollars going to fund political contributions and after the election integrity issues we faced in the presidential elections the last thing we should be doing is ending requirements for voter identification.”

“Huawei is one of the most powerful tools that the Chinese Communist Party can use for espionage and potential destruction against the United States. Keeping them on the banned entity list should be common sense – Commerce Secretary Raimondo’s refusal to commit to this simple step is both terrifying and dangerous. Our legislation takes this national security risk seriously and calls on our colleagues from Congress and the Administration to stand firm in our commitment to be tough on Communist China.”

“In reality, this misguided legislation promotes inequality and seriously harms the very citizens my colleagues claim to protect – women. By eliminating Title IX and forcing biological women to compete against biological men in sports, this legislation would take away opportunities for women on and off the field. Though blocked by the Democrats, my amendment would have prevented this discrimination, protected women, and promoted true equality.”

“Today, in a hearing entitled the Rise of Domestic Terrorism in America, all I heard from Democrats and their witnesses was white supremacy and far-right extremism, while completely ignoring the riots, destruction and violence of Antifa we have seen since last year. All forms of domestic terrorism are criminal, but in order to properly address the threats, we need to talk about all types of domestic terrorism, including Antifa. Instead, the Democrats have chosen to either ignore, condone or even embrace from Antifa."

“It is our responsibility to help our farmers, ranchers and producers as they work to feed families here in Florida and across the country, especially while they struggle with the effects of COVID-19 and unfair foreign competition. These initiatives will help all of those in the agriculture industry from farm to table, including laborers, commercial growers and producers, and agriculture transportation workers.”

“Thankfully, a lot of the COVID-19 relief infrastructure was put into place before the Biden Administration took over with Operation Warp Speed going in full force. We will continue to work alongside our federal, state, and local partners to ensure that the Sunshine State has all necessary resources for a full-fledged recovery.”

“This legislation would properly thank our nation’s heroes by giving them the opportunity to travel to our nation’s capital on national honor buses and flights without the unnecessary paperwork and financial costs. The last thing veterans and their families should worry about are burdensome administrative fees when visiting memorials and monuments erected in their honor.”

February 10, 2021 Press Release
“Cleaning up this sewage spill and taking extra steps to prevent future problems is of paramount importance to our communities and environment. At all levels of government, our united goal is a reliable wastewater system to ensure these problems are not repeated in Longboat Key or elsewhere. I look forward to working with my local, state and federal colleagues to ensure that our community has the resources and federal grants necessary to prevent further extensions or delays.”
