Rep. Greg Steube Appointed to Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government

WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) was appointed to serve on the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. The committee will use its sweeping investigative powers to root out corruption at the Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other government agencies.

McCarthy announces GOP members appointed to House panel on Biden admin’s ‘weaponization’ of government

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced late Tuesday the names of 12 GOP House members who will serve on the select subcommittee to “stop the weaponization” of the federal government.

The members who will serve on the committee — announced in a tweet from McCarthy — will be tasked with investigating how the executive branch has investigated and collected information on American citizens, building on the party’s promise to hold the Biden administration accountable for what it considers to be wrongdoings and oversteps throughout the last two years.

These Republicans will serve on panels to probe COVID-19, ‘weaponization’ of government

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has released the names of the Republicans who will serve on a pair of subcommittees as part of the GOP’s promise to launch investigations into the Biden administration.

McCarthy in a tweet Tuesday announced the GOP membership of two select subcommittees on the “Weaponization of the Federal Government” and the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Starting his third term in Congress, U.S. Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., will serve on one of the most prominent and powerful committees on Capitol Hill.

Last week, U.S. Rep. Jason Smith, R-Mo., the new chairman of the committee, named ten new Republicans to serve on it, including Steube.
